Three Cousins and Little Horses

Filed under: For Georgia — Gramie at 8:30 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2007

Georgia and Brittany and Daniel ran toward Kennard’s barn. Inside the barn was a miniature horse and her new baby horse. Miniature horses are very small. They are just the right size for little people like Brittany and Georgia and Daniel. The baby miniature horse was about as big as a big dog, but it wasn’t a dog, it was a horse! It was a very beautiful, little horse. Georgia and Brittany and Daniel petted the momma horse’s nose. They tried to pet the baby horse’s nose, but it was afraid of them. She did not know that they would not hurt her . She didn’t know that they just wanted to look at her and touch her, so she hid behind her momma. The momma horse was very gentle and let Georgia and Brittany and Daniel pet her. Then they remembered that Kennard had many other miniature horses.

“Where are the other horses?” asked Brittany. “They’re outside in the pasture.” said her Pappaw. “Can we go see them?” Brittany asked. “Sure,” her Pappaw said, “Let’s go.”

little horses and Georgia Sure enough, when Georgia and Brittany and Daniel went outside and walked behind the barn, they saw the other little horses. There was a black one, a gray one, a black and brown one, a black and white one, and one that was all white. They were very beautiful little horses. But they didn’t want Daniel and Brittany and Georgia to get close to them! They wouldn’t come close so Georgia and Brittany and Daniel could pet them. It was very exciting to look at the little horses, but Brittany and Georgia and Daniel wanted to pet them too. Georgia’s Daddy tried to get the horses to come closer by holding his hands out to them. He was pretending that he had something for them to eat. It was a trick, but it worked! The horses came close enough for Georgia and Brittany and Daniel to pet them. It was lots of fun to pet them and look at them and talk to them up close!

“Would you like to ride one of my horses?” asked Kennard. “Yes!” said Brittany. “Yes!” said Georgia. “Yes!” said Daniel. “Who wants to go first?” Kennard asked. “Me! Me! I do!” said Brittany. They followed Kennard back to the barn and waited while he got the momma horse out of the barn. The baby horse ran along beside them while her momma let Georgia and Brittany and Daniel take turns riding.

Daniel laughed while he rode the little horse. He held on tightly to the little horse’s mane and laughed and laughed. He was glad that Kennard was sharing his little horse.

Georgia laughed while she rode the little horse. She held the little horse’s mane tightly. She gripped the little horse with her legs just like cowboys do when they ride. She trusted Kennard to hold the little horse’s bridle and keep her safe. She was very glad that Kennard was sharing his little horse. She was very glad that Daddy and Papa and Gramie were there to watch her ride the little horse.

Brittany laughed while she rode the little horse. She held on tightly to the little horse’s mane. She gripped the little horse with her legs. She knew that Kennard would keep her safe while she rode his little horse. She was glad that Georgia had come from Martinsburg on the same weekend that she had come from North Carolina.

Georgia and Brittany
Georgia and Brittany love each other. They are glad that they are cousins. They are glad that Kennard has little horses. They hope that they can see each other and play together again very soon.
